Release MN8 Talk

5:00 PM  - 6:30 PM
Monday Apr 16, 2018
DeWitt Wallace Library 309

Join APIAC for an event with the Release MN8 coalition. Release MN8 is a grassroots coalition that formed after eight Cambodian Minnesotan men were unjustly targeted for deportation by ICE in 2016. All eight had come to the US as child refugees and were targeted because of crimes they committed when they were young.

Members of the coalition will speak about their activism, as well as issues the men and their families continue to face, both in the US and in Cambodia. This event will provide an opportunity to discuss how the criminal justice system and the immigration system are linked, as well as how these systems impact Southeast Asian Americans.  Light dinner will be provided.

This event is for: Alumni, Students, Staff, Faculty, Parents and Families and Public

Sponsored By: Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship (IGC), Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in Coalition (APIAC)
