Panel Discussion: Russia-Syria-U.S. Triangle - Is There a Red Line Here?

What are the historical, political, and cultural factors that have shaped and continue to shape the relationship among Syria, Russia, and the United States? Faculty from Macalester and the University of Minnesota will discuss recent developments in the Syrian conflict, including the deal struck between Russia and the U.S. regarding the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons as well as the debates around that decision. Panelists from fields including Russian history, international law, and political science will bring different perspectives to bear on the conflict in Syria and the question of how it may be resolved. Pizza lunch served!
